Four rank box organ

This instrument was developed for Furman University to provide accompaniment capabilities in a wide range of settings. A stopped 8’ provides a sturdy foundation which, by itself, will not overpower small groups or a soloist. The choir of either a 4’ flute or a 4’principal allows the performer to vary the strength of the ensemble and the 2 ’octave gives the necessary brightness to stand up to full choruses or orchestra. All the pipework is built of poplar and maple. It is portable with the blower and bellows contained in the base while the pipework and action are in the removable upper case. Bi-fold doors open to reveal the façade of 4’ principle pipes.
